Desired Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Professional Educator License with an LBS1 endorsement
• Previous experience in self-contained special education settings strongly preferred
• Proficiency working with elementary or middle school students in individualized instructional settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, families, and support staff
• Ability to adapt lessons and strategies to meet students’ unique strengths and needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction for your assigned self-contained classroom, developing age-appropriate, standards-based lessons
• Modify curriculum and differentiate instruction to accommodate varying learning styles and IEP goals
• Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom culture—one that supports both academic and social-emotional growth
• Maintain accurate records, monitor student progress, and participate in IEP meetings
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive student support
• Manage classroom routines and behavioral interventions in alignment with students’ IEPs
