Work Environment

This role is situated in our outpatient office in Oneonta, NY, where we foster a collaborative and welcoming workplace. Operating Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, we maintain a patient-centered approach that prioritizes thoughtful and individualized care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients to assess their physical abilities, limitations, and goals as a foundation for personalized care plans.
• Design and implement tailored treatment strategies aimed at improving mobility, strength, coordination, and overall functional independence in young patients with diverse needs.
• Monitor patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on objective data and patient feedback.
• Educate families on home exercise programs, treatment strategies, and how they can support their child's rehabilitation journey.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians and other therapists to provide holistic care and coordinate treatment efforts.
• Stay abreast of current pediatric therapy techniques and best practices through ongoing professional development and training.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with children and adolescents facing a variety of challenges, including but not limited to physical disabilities, developmental disorders, and recovery from surgeries or injuries. Your skillful approach and nurturing demeanor will be instrumental in building trust and motivating young patients to achieve their treatment goals.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution, with additional advanced degrees preferred.
• A valid New York State Physical Therapy license and CPR certification must be current and maintained throughout employment.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic capabilities are essential for developing individualized treatment plans that effectively address the unique needs of pediatric patients.
• Experience designing and implementing rehabilitation programs in a pediatric setting is highly preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
