Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Bi-lingual Education and in coordination with the classroom teacher, the ESL Tutor instructs students from bi-lingual homes, helping them with basic academic skills and with class assignments.

Classified position is announced to all applicants. This position will remain open until filled. 3.5 hours per day/166 days per year/Grade 3 $17.24 per hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table) This is a one year only position. GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the director of bi-lingual education and in coordination with the classroom teacher, the ESL Tutor instructs students from bi-lingual homes, helping them with basic academic skills and with class assignments. Educational Requirements: 1. High school graduation. 2. Minimum Qualifications: The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test. Knowledge & Ability: 1. Proficiency in a second language and a knowledge of a second culture. 2. Ability to work well with students, teachers and administrators. 3. Ability to demonstrate patience and empathy when working with children. 4.
