Outside Sales Representative - Environmental Services

Location: Buffalo, Rochester NY

Compensation: $50,000-60,000 annual base salary (dependent on experience) plus uncapped commission

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a motivated and versatile Environmental Outside Sales Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing customers within the oil recovery, used oil collection, environmental services, and industrial recycling markets. This position focuses on generating revenue through commercial, industrial, automotive, manufacturing, transportation, and municipal accounts by promoting the company's oil recovery and environmental service solutions. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong prospecting skills, the ability to build long-term customer relationships, and experience selling industrial or environmental services.

What You Will Do

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and field visits.
• Establish and maintain relationships with automotive, industrial, manufacturing, transportation, and municipal customers.
• Promote the company's oil recovery, used oil collection, wastewater, industrial recycling, and environmental service offerings.
• Conduct customer site visits to assess service needs and identify opportunities for additional services.
• Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and service agreements.
• Negotiate contracts and close sales opportunities.
• Maintain regular contact with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
• Track sales activities, leads, and customer interactions using CRM software.
• Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
• Coordinate with operations, dispatch, and environmental compliance teams to ensure exceptional service delivery.
• Participate in trade shows, industry events, and local business networking organizations.
• Prepare accurate sales forecasts and territory reports.
• Frequent driving and travel within assigned territory.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
• The ideal candidate will have experience selling environmental services, waste management, recycling, industrial services, lubricants, fuel products, or related industries, preferred.
• Knowledge of used oil recovery, industrial waste services, and environmental regulations preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of outside sales experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a sales territory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Ability to travel throughout assigned territory.
• Ability to walk industrial facilities, shops, and manufacturing plants.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
