Clinical Nurse Coordinator
The Pediatric Cardiology Pulmonary Hypertension team is seeking a Registered Nurse with a preferred background in pediatric cardiology to step into the role of Clinical Nurse Coordinator. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator serves as a vital clinical link for pediatric patients with complex cardiac, pulmonary, genetic, and multisystem conditions requiring specialized evaluation and long-term management of pulmonary hypertension. This position builds long-term relationships with patients and families, serving as a consistent point of contact throughout the entire continuum of care across inpatient, outpatient, procedural, pharmacy, home-health, and community settings. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator prepares patients for clinics and coordinating diagnostic testing like echoes, labs, and cardiac catheterizations. Additionally, this role oversees complex specialty therapies by managing prior authorizations, REMS program compliance, and lab monitoring (including therapies like Winrevair), while leveraging Epic EHR workflows to manage protocol orders and maintain communication. Working closely with pulmonary hypertension physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), the coordinator ensures seamless care delivery while maintaining a predictable, Monday-through-Friday schedule on a single medical campus.
Location: St. Louis Children's Hospital (SLCH) & Northwest Tower (On-site) Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (No weekends, no holidays, no call) Care Environment: Inpatient & Outpatient
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician.
- Coordinates patient care, orders diagnostic tests, conveys findings to physician, attends inpatient rounds, coordinates patient appointments and assists with referrals to outside sources.
- Assists physician and provides support with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance.
- Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act.
- Basic Life Support Certification or obtains certification within one month of employment. Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.

Salary Range: $64,500.00 - $109,900.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
