Bioinformatics Analyst - (Hybrid)

Job Summary RTX BBN Technologies, a subsidiary of RTX Corporation, is a research company behind revolutionary advances such as the first routers, GenBank, and email. We are seeking a creative, collaborative, and highly motivated computational biologist to join our Applied Biosciences R&D team to work on advanced biology research projects for the U.S. Government. The role involves contributing to multi‑year, interdisciplinary programs that bring together teams in biology, engineering, and data science to develop and transition new biotechnology solutions in support of national security. Responsibilities • Work with a team of about 12 people to support multi‑year research programs.

• Collaborate across biology, engineering, and data science to develop new biotechnology solutions.
• Travel to BBN, RTX, teammate, or customer sites as required for meetings or other business‑related activities.

Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field. Demonstrated programming experience (Python, Linux command line). Experience with development infrastructure such as git/version control, virtual environments (conda, venv, R renv), and containerization (Docker, Apptainer). Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (U.S. citizenship required). Preferred Active security clearance. Experience with bioinformatics analysis and common tools/workflows (genomics, other omics). Familiarity with bioinformatics databases (NCBI, UniProt, PDB). Data science skills including data analysis, automation, visualization. Experience with artificial intelligence or machine learning to generate analytical outcomes. Strong communication of data analysis findings to the team. Benefits • Salary range: 62,900 USD – 119,700 USD.
