Prorated based on an annual salary of $35,994.00

Effective: ASAP

The school health aide reports to the Director of Non-Certified Personnel or his/her designee.

Supervises all designated nurses and students.

The job goal is to exercise a high degree of initiative and professional judgment in providing school nursing services while working within the established framework of the federal and state regulations and also local school district policies. In addition, you will oversee the operation of district nurses, and providing leadership and supervision for the health aid department.

Major duties include assisting with development and implementation of health-related policies and procedures, coordinating all district health services and programs, arranging for CPR recertification program for all nurses, coordinating the in service training for nurses, coordinating the training for newly hired and substitute nurses, coordinating the Blood Pathogens program, scheduling and conducting meetings with nursing staff, ordering district-wide nursing supplies, ordering supplies, materials and equipment, consulting with physicians as needed, maintaining the health services procedure manual, performing all duties of a school nurse, and more.

Terms of employment are for a nine month year. Salary is established by the board of education and based upon the Health Aide Column of the Miscellaneous 25th Salary Schedule.

Evaluation of this job will be performed in accordance with provisions of the board of education's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. Evaluations are currently scheduled twice a year.
