Baby University Site Manager (26-27 SY) – South Baby University Job Title: Baby University Site Manager Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Development Primary Purpose The IISD Employee Childcare (Baby University) Site Manager assists the Childcare Administrator in planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and controlling the childcare program to comply with institutional regulations and state daycare licensing provisions. The assistant administrator operates the program under general supervision and manages the early childhood program overall. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with at least 12 hours of child development or a related field and one year of experience in a licensed child‑care center or early childhood teaching. Or, hold a Director/Administrator Credential approved by licensing with at least two years of experience in a licensed child‑care center. Three hours of college credit in management. Required to be certified as a Director of a Childcare Center per TDHHS Child Care Regulations Standard 746.1015. Willing to work in any classroom as needed and maintain at least 30 hours of training each year. Principal Certification preferred. Special Knowledge and Skills Thorough understanding of childcare center operations. Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in typing, word processing, and file/record maintenance. Ability to implement policy and procedures. Comprehensive knowledge of TDHHS Child‑Care Regulation Minimum Standards. Success in implementing developmentally appropriate programs. Respect for diversity among children, parents, and staff. Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional Management Maintain high-quality child care standards based on developmentally appropriate practices. Personnel Management Supervise all center staff, including substitutes. Ensure staff assignments match skills and training; enforce minimum licensing standards. Ensure caregivers do not provide more than ten hours of direct child care in a 24‑hour period. Maintain required child‑to‑adult ratios each day. Assist with hiring, orientation, and annual performance evaluations. Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities Functions Assist with budget development and financial controls. Ensure cost‑effective program operation and prudent fund management. Oversee daily operations in compliance with TDHHS standards. Develop and implement policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with Texas DHHS Child‑Care Regulations, including inspections. Co‑coordinate annual licensing and file maintenance per regulations. Update manuals, handbooks, and logs. Communicate effectively with parents, offering training and support as needed. Provide accurate information to stakeholders. Follow all district and state policies and supervisor directives. Assist with other projects as assigned. Carry out additional duties assigned by the Superintendent or designee. Professional Growth and Development Attend seminars and trainings to maintain best practices per TDHHS requirements. Maintain membership in NAEYC and review publications. Coordinate training and professional development for all staff, including self. School or Community Relations Assist with program registration and provide orientation to parents and staff. Articulate and promote the center’s mission to employees and stakeholders. Encourage community and parent involvement. Represent the center professionally and courteously. Promote a positive, caring learning climate for staff, children, and parents. Handle sensitivity with diverse cultural backgrounds. Communicate effectively with families. Perform any assigned duties. Advance district initiatives successfully. Supervisory Responsibilities Assist in the annual evaluation of childcare staff. Working Conditions Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Occasional district or out‑of‑district travel; irregular hours; frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling; prolonged computer use and repetitive hand motion; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr
