St. Elara Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in supporting individuals at our Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. Work Environment

The PTA position is onsite and primarily located within ALFs, enabling you to work closely with residents in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. Your working hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. In this setting, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including licensed Physical Therapists, Orthopedic Physicians, and Occupational Therapists, to ensure that patients receive coordinated and comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and execute individualized treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists, specifically designed to promote orthopedic recovery and enhance mobility of elderly patients.
• Provide empathetic, high-quality care, paying close attention to each patient’s unique needs and preferences.
• Regularly monitor and report on patient progress, facilitating adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated services and foster effective communication regarding patient care.
• Establish trusting relationships with residents, their families, and facility staff to improve care delivery and the overall resident experience.
• Utilize a user-friendly mobile electronic medical records (EMR) system to maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on serving a diverse population of older adults residing within Assisted Living Facilities. These patients often face challenges related to mobility, chronic pain, and age-related conditions. Your contributions as a PTA will directly impact their ability to perform daily activities and enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey is required.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger clinical team.
• Excellent time management and adaptability skills in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience in outpatient therapy, geriatrics, home healthcare, or skilled nursing facilities is highly desirable.
• A strong passion for improving the lives of seniors and fostering their independence through tailored rehabilitation programs.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 per year, accompanied by opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
