Work Environment

This position is situated within a hospital setting in Waldwick, NJ, where you will engage daily with a diverse patient population. The facility is equipped with modern rehabilitation technology and resources, allowing you to provide comprehensive care in a supportive and dynamic atmosphere. Your work schedule will generally be Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, accommodating both patient needs and your work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute treatment plans crafted by the supervising Physical Therapist, closely monitoring and adapting protocols to meet the individual rehabilitation goals of each patient.
• Assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises and engage them in manual therapy techniques, guiding them with a focus on safety and efficacy.
• Utilize modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot/cold therapy as indicated by treatment plans, ensuring patients understand their purpose and benefits.
• Document patient progress meticulously, including functional improvements and any setbacks, while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and hospital protocols.
• Provide education on injury prevention, wellness strategies, and home exercise routines, empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to strengthen patient care coordination and optimize therapeutic outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and chronic pain conditions. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the rehabilitation of individuals from various age groups, ranging from adolescents to geriatrics, and address unique challenges each demographic may face.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey.
• Education requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, with specialized training in physical therapy assisting.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably within an outpatient or hospital environment.
• Proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and patient engagement strategies is essential.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and a clear patient-centered focus.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is advantageous, enhancing efficiency in documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Previous work in outpatient orthopedic settings is highly preferred, as it will offer valuable insights into combination treatment methods.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes:
