Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our client's manufacturing operations in Malvern, PA. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position plays a key role in minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and supporting production teams through preventative maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

• Diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs or part replacements to restore production operations.

• Repair and replace electrical components, wiring, motors, sensors, relays, and other equipment components.

• Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment.

• Provide emergency and scheduled repairs during production operations.

• Troubleshoot electrical systems including 480VAC three-phase wiring, 24VDC wiring, 90VDC motors, SCRs, AC motors, VFDs, and sensors.

• Maintain critical spare parts inventory to support continuous manufacturing operations.

• Coordinate maintenance activities and repairs with Production and Quality Assurance teams.

• Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and technology transfers.

• Support operator training related to equipment operation and troubleshooting.

• Operate small equipment and tools including grinders, drill presses, and measuring equipment.

• Identify equipment issues, defective materials, and unusual conditions, and communicate findings to appropriate leadership.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

• Utilize computerized maintenance systems (MRP) to update schedules, create checklists, and track preventative maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; technical degree or maintenance training preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong industrial maintenance background including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair skills.

• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs such as TPM and OEE preferred.

• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to work with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other departments.

• Basic computer skills and ability to learn web-based MRP systems.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Majority of time spent on the production floor troubleshooting and repairing equipment.

• Comfortable working around moderate to loud noise levels when machinery is operating.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and use hands throughout the workday.

• Ability to lift and move items weighing 25+ pounds.

• Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
