Warehouse & Material Handling Specialist

Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and experienced Warehouse & Material Handling Specialist to support our receiving, assembly, and shipping operations. In this role, you will work closely with internal teams to ensure the safe and efficient receiving, movement, and tracking of materials throughout the plant-covering incoming deliveries, in-process assembly staging, bagging operations, and finished product loading.

This is a hands-on plant logistics role for an organized professional who excels at inventory accuracy and equipment safety. You will conduct daily forklift inspections, perform cycle counts, enter receipts into MRP systems, and collaborate with departments to resolve receiving discrepancies. Key Responsibilities
Material Handling & Plant Logistics
• Receiving & Verification: Verify the quantity and quality accuracy of incoming deliveries, inspect freight, and record receiving discrepancy reports (RDRs) for damaged or missing items.
• Material Movement: Transport materials safely between receiving docks, assembly lines, bagging operations, and finished goods storage using forklifts and mobile equipment.
• Bagging & Loading: Assist with bagging, packaging, and loading finished products for outgoing distribution.
• Line Delivery: Ensure continuous, timely delivery of raw materials and components to active assembly workstations.

Inventory Control & Equipment Maintenance
• Inventory Tracking: Maintain accurate, up-to-date stock records, enter receipts into the MRP system, track on-time deliveries, and execute routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
• Equipment Safety: Conduct mandatory daily safety inspections on material handling equipment, complete inspection logs, and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Facility Support: Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment; assist with racking assembly/relocation and general plant maintenance tasks as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional warehouse experience operating forklifts and mobile handling equipment in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Technical Mastery:
oAbility to successfully pass a practical forklift driving test and safety evaluation.
oWorking knowledge of basic inventory software and MRP systems for data entry.
oProficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook / Email) and basic math skills.
• Driving & Compliance: Valid state-issued driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Physical & Environmental Requirements:
oRegular physical activity including sitting, standing, walking, and frequent mounting/dismounting of mobile equipment.
oAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis.
oComfortable working in a warehouse and assembly plant environment (occasional outdoor exposure, loud or dusty conditions).
oMandatory adherence to plant PPE policies (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and gloves).

Preferred Attributes
• Prior experience working within a combined warehouse and manufacturing assembly plant setting.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S workspace organization).
