About Stinker Founded in 1936, Stinker is a family-owned convenience retailer serving communities throughout Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming. We got our name in a fight. In 1936, a 20-year old named Farris Lind opened a service station in Twin Falls and started selling gasoline for less than the major oil companies thought he should. They didn’t take it well. When one of them told a newspaper that Farris Lind was a real stinker, he took it as a compliment, put the word on his stations, and drew a skunk wearing red boxing gloves. So the gloves came first, and they were never a joke. Fearless Farris put them on because he spent his career punching above his weight on behalf of the customer, and because a small Idaho company that refuses to be pushed around has to be willing to fight for what it believes in. Ninety years later, that’s still the job. We fight for our employees. We fight for our guests. That’s what sets us apart, and it’s what we look for in the leaders we hire. Our purpose is simple: To make our world a better place by being a bright spot in the lives we touch, one employee, one guest, and one community at a time. We believe our success starts with our people. That means developing others, building trust, welcoming new ideas, recognizing contributions, holding ourselves accountable, and having the courage to do what’s right. We still know how to have fun, our mascot is a skunk, after all. But take a close look at Pete: he’s got his gloves on. Qualifications 5+ years of multi-unit retail leadership experience; convenience retail experience preferred Associate degree in business, management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing managers across multiple locations A track record of developing people who moved up — leaders you promoted, and leaders they promoted Willingness and desire to spend the majority of your time in stores with your teams Strong understanding of retail operations, financial performance, P&L management, labor, shrink, and expense control Ability to analyze business results, identify opportunities, and develop effective action plans Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Ability to effectively lead through change and manage multiple priorities across a district Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn and effectively use company systems and technology Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company motor vehicle requirements Successfully complete required background and motor vehicle record reviews Regularly travel between Stinker locations throughout the assigned district Work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays Safely use a step stool or step ladder Lift and carry up to 50 pounds Perform work from floor level to approximately eye level Work in refrigerated areas with temperatures averaging approximately 32°F Perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation Schedule: Full-time; schedule will vary based on business and store needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. If you’re looking for an opportunity to develop leaders, take ownership of business results, and make a meaningful impact across multiple stores and communities, we’d love to hear from you.
