Summary Oversee financial activities of the Company and provide financial advice and support to members of management enabling them to make sound business decisions. Assist the Controller to ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Participate and recommend to management major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the company. Assist in the development of proposals for efficiency and profit improvements. Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual results, especially balance sheets and profit & loss accounts. Support preparation and submission of sales tax returns and work with corporate headquarters on income tax returns and other statistical returns. Support the deployment of accounting procedures and policies to meet company needs and group requirements. Assist in the execution of financial accounting system improvements including the general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, and planning and budgeting. Monitor and make recommendations for the system of internal control. Provide recommendations to ensure coordination standards and the financial policy/principles of the Franke group are adhered to. Collaborate on arrangement and control of periodic physical inventories with the Controller. Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Support the Controller in managing budget preparation, budget proposals, and prepare supporting documentation and justification. Assist with audits of the company’s accounts. Coordinate with Human Resources on all aspects of employee relations, including interview, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training and development. Reliable attendance is a must. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Management – knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Economics and Accounting – knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and analysis and reporting of financial data. Very High Language Skills – ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; respond to inquiries or complaints; write speeches and articles; present information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors. Very High Mathematical Skills – ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, permutations, frequency distribution, reliability and validity analysis, ANOVA, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Very High Reasoning Skills – ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and handle abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills – proficiency with word processing, accounting, spreadsheet, and database software. Education and/or Experience BS/BA Degree in a related field.
