Lead Estimator - Mechanical & Industrial Piping

Location: St. Louis, MO

Position Type: Full-Time


A well-established mechanical contractor in St. Louis is hiring a Lead Estimator to take full ownership of its preconstruction process. Specializing in industrial/process piping, HVAC, and plumbing , this firm is looking for someone who brings expertise, initiative, and leadership-someone who can run the estimating department and help drive strategic project wins.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Leading all aspects of mechanical and piping estimates , from scope review and takeoffs to pricing and final proposal
  
  
• Coordinating closely with project managers and leadership to shape winning strategies
  
  
• Analyzing drawings and specs, identifying risk, and ensuring competitive, accurate numbers
  
  
• Setting internal standards and mentoring junior estimators (if applicable)
  
  
• Playing a key role in preconstruction and business development efforts

What You Bring to the Table:

• Proven experience estimating mechanical and industrial piping systems
  
  
• Solid understanding of HVAC and plumbing in commercial and industrial construction
  
  
• Ability to own the estimating process- accurate, organized, and confident
  
  
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both field and office leaders
