Associate Attorney

A nationally recognized personal injury firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its growing Chicago office. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong PI litigation background who is comfortable managing cases through trial and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will handle a full caseload with support from an experienced team and have the opportunity to take on significant responsibility, including courtroom advocacy and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage personal injury matters from filing through trial
- Handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial prep
- Lead and collaborate with a litigation team (including support staff)
- Communicate regularly with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and internal teams
- Develop case strategy and drive matters toward resolution or trial
- Oversee pre-litigation case handling and negotiation when needed
- Maintain strong attention to detail across high-volume caseloads
- Work with complex cases, including those involving commercial motor vehicles
Qualifications
- Active Illinois bar license in good standing (required)
- 3+ years of personal injury litigation experience (plaintiff or defense)
- Strong Illinois court and litigation experience required
- Trial experience or significant trial exposure preferred
- Experience handling depositions, discovery, and motion practice
- Experience with trucking or commercial vehicle cases is a plus
- Leadership or team supervision experience preferred
