Position Highlights

As a Hematology/Oncology Physician at our Martinsburg facility, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering comprehensive hematology and oncology care to Veterans in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, and managing hematologic and oncologic conditions.
• Determining the need for inpatient admissions versus outpatient management.
• Conducting thorough medical and psychosocial assessments.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests while formulating treatment plans.
• Coordinating specialty consultations within the VA and community care networks.
• Providing ongoing chronic disease management and survivorship care.
• Educating patients and families through various communication methods.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation within CPRS.
• Supervising and mentoring medical residents and students.
• Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary care teams.
• Potentially overseeing nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
