Full Time Outpatient Clinician (Hybrid - Berkeley/East Bay)

About You We are seeking applications from motivated clinicians who will provide direct therapy to teens and/or adults. (Child therapists are welcome, too.) The ideal clinician will bring their unique history, skills, and approach to the work and be committed to ongoing learning and improvement. We welcome applicants with personal histories of struggle (SUD and/or mental health symptoms) that have influenced their transformation and work as a professional. Alongside having relevant expertise and a curiosity to grow as a clinician, the preferred candidate will be technology friendly and have opportunities for growth within the company. Responsibilities Weekly duties include: Book a minimum 26 hours (53-min+ sessions) per week of direct therapy services via telehealth, and in-person in our Berkeley/East Bay office in accordance with company policies. More hours are available if the clinician so chooses. Please note: Our cancellation rate is approximately 10%, so when booking 26 you will generally see 22 clients per week. Maintain all clinical documentation using our HIPAA compliant electronic health record (EHR). Attend and participate in individual and group case consultation with the clinical director. Attend and participate in monthly or bi-monthly, 1-hour in-house trainings. Send questionnaires to clients and review them to promote patients’ healing. Other duties Attend work reliably and arrive on time consistently. Be properly licensed and/or certified (if applicable). Abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Family Spring. Respond to patients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the Family Spring website. Respond to such requests by meeting with, evaluating, and providing services to such patients. Communicate with a patient’s treatment team (i.e., pediatrician, primary care physician, psychiatrist, school, probation officer etc.) as necessary. Use online EHR to complete written records for each patient including intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Family Spring or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient in a timely fashion (by Friday of each week). Keep patient files accurate and up to date. Conduct and organize therapy services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the goodwill and reputation of Family Spring. Be respectful and collaborative with co-workers. Tend to other important duties which may be assigned by Family Spring. Minimum Qualifications Have an active, unrestricted California license (MFT, LCSW, LPCC, PhD, or PsyD) in good standing with the appropriate governing body (BBS or BOP) Have a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology from a regionally accredited school. Have documented expertise and training doing clinical work with adults with mild to moderate mental health conditions. Have a minimum of 2 years of direct services with these populations. (This can include practicum and internship experience). Be available for 26 of direct clinical services hours per week plus additional administrative tasks. Be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive workplace culture. Preferred Qualifications Have specialized training and/or certification in treatments with our patient population (e.g., ACT, EMDR, SUD training, trauma-specific training, mindfulness training, etc.) Have specialized training and/or certification in treatments adjacent to our patient population (e.g., couples therapy). Have experience conducting therapy in a language other than English (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, etc.). Have documented expertise and training doing clinical work with teens with mild to moderate mental health conditions and their families. Have an affinity for technology. Schedule The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, but the clinician has some flexibility and input in determining their work hours. You will determine the 26+ slots you want to see clients. Weekend hours are also available, if desired by the clinician. Master’s Clinician starting Salary: $96,950+ (based on minimum booking requirements). Doctoral Clinician starting Salary: $105,966+ (based on minimum booking requirements). Paid Time Off (PTO): Between 2-3 weeks depending on number of sessions booked. Dental, vision, and health insurance (100% paid for employee). 401k: 3% employer contribution immediately (no vesting period). Tech Stipend: $50/month to go toward computer, internet, and other technology costs. Monthly training with free CEs. Full operational and clinical support. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Q: Do I get paid for no-shows or late cancellations? A: As an insurance-based practice, we cannot submit claims for no shows or late cancellations, therefore you do not get paid for missed sessions or no shows. Please note: The income above is based on seeing 22 clients per week, taking into account no shows and cancellations. We also have a firm no show/cancellation policy that we coach you through in order to minimize cancellations. Q: How long does it take to fill my caseload? A: It generally takes 4-6 weeks to fill your caseload. We have put a lot of thoughtfulness into a smooth onboarding process and this timeline has proven over the years to work best. Depending on when you onboard, it could take slightly longer (7-8 weeks) if onboarding during holidays or peak vacation times. Q: Do I get paid for consultation and admin time? A: There is no additional administrative fee. Progress note time is built into the “psychotherapy hour” (though you do not have to complete your notes right after your session — just within two business days), and consultation is optional (though highly encouraged).
