Sr. Tableau Developer

Must have:
• 5+ years of experience creating static and interactive visualizations, reports, and workbooks in tableau. (minimum of two years if the person is really good)
• Ability to write SQL in order to pull, join, and aggregate data in order to create views for tableau from PostgreSQL data marts.
• Critical thinking skills - work closely with users to understand the business purpose the report serves, not just following requirements. This person will be expected to consult on best ways to visualize data - this is not an order taker position
• Ability to interact directly with users in order to identify/fix bugs and optimize the reports for their needs
• Self-starter and self-directed - nobody got time to micromanage
• Some level of inquisitiveness - able to QA data and ID when things look wrong, able to fix it or communicate to team that there's an issue somewhere in the pipeline.
• Adaptability - if requirements change, able to quickly switch gears
• Deal with ambiguity


Riot recently built out a reporting team for their enterprise space. This team ingests data into a DW and into data marts they've built and maintain, and they create reports and dashboards in tableau. Our resource will own the tail end of the reporting pipeline. The engineers get data into data mart, our person writes SQL and builds reports + talk to customers to make report design recommendations, fix bugs and enhance existing reports.


Features will include everything from an excel looking report to an interactive chart or graph based on number of different filters. Will be regularly creating a number of reports inside a workbook, creating filters by year, data sets, chart views, matrixes, bar graphs, etc.
