Assistant Athletic Trainer

Position Description Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member ofthe Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time position of Assistant Athletic Trainer to work with our 21 Division I sport programs. This position assists the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer and staff with the safety and welfare of the student-athletes. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position. Position Reports To: Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine / Head Athletic Trainer Job Responsibilities Assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/HeadAthletic Trainer with the day to day operations of the athletictraining room. Provide treatment and care to injured athletes. Serve as liaison between team physicians,athleticadministratorsand coaches. Maintain comprehensive medical documentation. Assist with the administering of institutional drug testingprograms, game/event and practice coverage and team travel. Collaborate with assistant athletic trainers and supervise workstudy students. Assist with the processing of secondary insurance claims. Assist with pre-participation health screens. Requirements NATABOC certified, NY State licensed or eligible. CPR / AEDcertified. Strong computer, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to travel, work evenings, weekends and some holidays asneeded. Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field. 2-3 years of experience in the college or professional sportssetting. Ability to work evenings, weekends and some holidays asneeded. Possess a valid driver's license. Ability to lift equipment on occasion and work in variousenvironmental conditions. Ability to foster positive relationships and createpartnerships with a wide range of constituent groups. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attentionto detail and keep specific timelines. Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
