Supermarket Associate

The Supermarket Associate supports daily store operations in a busy Manhattan retail setting by helping keep shelves stocked, aisles organized, and customers assisted in a courteous manner. Typical duties may include facing products, rotating inventory, checking expiration dates, retrieving carts or baskets, cleaning work areas, and responding to routine questions about merchandise or store layout. The role can also involve unloading deliveries, transferring items to storage, and helping maintain a safe, orderly sales floor during busy periods. Basic qualifications usually include reliability, the ability to follow directions, good communication skills, and comfort working with the public in a fast-paced environment. Prior grocery, cashier, or stockroom experience is helpful but not always required. Physical demands may include standing for long periods, lifting moderate weights, reaching, bending, and moving throughout the store. The schedule is part time and may include a mix of weekday, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts depending on store needs. Compensation may be negotiated within the posted range based on relevant experience.
