We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager for a concrete contractor based in Washington,DC.

The person in this role will be in charge of a wide range of evolving tasks ultimately assisting in the management of the overall project direction, completion and financial outcome. He/she must be trustworthy, reliable and possess solid leadership traits, including a proactive mindset. Successful candidates must be excellent communicators, both written and verbal, and possess solid organizational, time management and computer skills. Candidates need to maintain absolute professionalism in the face of multiple and complex deadlines. Flexibility and the ability to adapt as a team-player are key.

Requirements and Training:

• Proficient with Outlook, Excel and MS Project
• Experience with reading blueprints
• Concrete experience preferred but not mandatory
• Solid written and oral communication skills
• Strong organization skills Capable of managing multiple projects
• Must be competent at performing complete and accurate project take offs
• Proficiency with industry practices, processes and standards
• OSHA requirements and other legal restrictions
• Knowledge of the Material Submittal process, RFP's ad RFI's

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in management and/or coordination of company personnel and resources.
• Assist in project preparation and execution.
• Setup initial contracts and project information.
• Receive, forward and track submittals.
• Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs.
• Assist in cost control and cost management systems.
• Track and inspect material deliveries
• Assist in cost control and cost management systems.
• Troubleshoot areas of concern on existing projects. Communicate regularly with customers.
• Coordinate any preconstruction meetings.
• Review and conduct analysis of potential chances to budget or schedule.

Education and/or experience

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent 2-5 years in industry experience.
