Medical Laboratory Scientist

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility, based in Anderson, IN 46016 This is a 13+ week contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Schedule: 1500 to 2230/ 6p-6a/ 8p-6:30a (40hrs/week) Pay Range: $2200/week (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume. Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, result reporting, and record maintenance. Perform laboratory testing using approved procedures and ensure proficiency testing samples are handled in the same manner as patient specimens. Review and release test results, including reporting STAT and critical results according to department procedures. Comply with all applicable CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, laboratory safety, and regulatory requirements. Follow quality control policies and document QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions. Identify and resolve issues affecting test performance or result reporting, and promptly notify the Senior Technologist or Supervisor when necessary. Maintain complete and accurate records of all testing performed on-site and ensure reagents and test kits are properly dated, including receipt, expiration, and opening dates when applicable. Respond to questions from customers and laboratory personnel, maintain the general appearance of the department, and support regulatory or government inspections as needed. Review and train on new procedures, attend required department and educational meetings, and participate in all applicable safety training. Demonstrate strong knowledge of laboratory testing, QC/QA principles, and laboratory operations, along with good computer skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple computer systems; perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Education: BS in Medical Technology preferred; alternatively, BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, an Associate\'s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433. Foreign-educated candidates must provide a detailed IERF credential evaluation; U.S.-educated candidates must provide an original detailed transcript. Certification: Must possess or be eligible for national MT/MLT certification through a recognized organization such as ASCP or AMT . Experience: 1-year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred. Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology. National and State licensure as required. Special Requirements: Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously. Must interact with other departments. Contact with clients may be required, good customer service skills are important. Must protect patient confidentiality at all times.
