Job Summary Fusion Medical Staffing is hiring a Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13‑week assignment in Columbus, Ohio. The role involves providing high‑quality obstetric care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. Key Details Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/27/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques. Prepare equipment and aid physicians during labor, delivery, and patient examinations. Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn. Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care. Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols. Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes. Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results. Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures. Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing. Required Qualifications At least one year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification. Preferred Qualifications AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification. STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC). Other certifications and licenses as required for this position. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal English communication. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and proficiency with PC skills. Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal skill to work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism. Technical/motor skill to perform fine manipulation, assist with procedures, and use department equipment. Mental resilience to cope with frequent public interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, and manage irregular activity schedules with concentration to detail.
