We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and student-focused Special Education Teacher (SPED) to join our educational team in Florence, South Carolina. Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide direct instruction based on student learning needs and goals
Adapt curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom materials to support student success
Conduct assessments and track student progress toward IEP objectives
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, therapists, and support staff
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress
Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and behavioral interventions
Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field
Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain certification
Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Special Education
Experience working with K-12 students
Experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), emotional disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or learning disabilities
Familiarity with assistive technology and differentiated instruction
