About This Role

The Teacher Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting Teachers and the Director in creating a nurturing and secure environment for the children, while contributing to the development of a high-quality educational program. Effective communication, active listening, and teamwork are essential skills for success in this position. By observing and documenting children's interests and progress, the Teacher Assistant fosters positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, and ensures that families are informed about their child's development and care. Under the direction of the Teacher and the Director, the Teacher Assistant designs and implements engaging activities that cater to children's needs and interests.

• Engage children in curricula activities and promote their active participation.
• Take charge of classroom maintenance, ensuring materials are clean, organized, and readily available.
• Establish and maintain regular communication with parents through informal conversations and progress updates.
• Model good hygiene and self-help habits, encouraging children to develop positive behaviors.
• Smoothly facilitate the daily transition of children from home to the child care center.
• Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to maintain and improve the quality of care and education.

• Ability to work with a high level of energy.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer literacy.
• Familiarity with child development principles.
• Superior leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
• Necessary qualifications include passing a full background check and health screening.

• Possession of Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Completion of a 15-hour Health and Safety SC course.
