Make a lasting impact in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive elementary environment. Two full-time opportunities are available for dedicated professionals who are committed to empowering students with diverse learning needs. These roles focus on self-contained classrooms with para support and provide the chance to work with either elementary-aged students on the Autism spectrum (K-2) or PreK students in special education.
Ideal candidates thrive in collaborative onsite settings, enjoy creative problem-solving, and possess a passion for personalized instruction. Individuals pursuing alternative licensure (including emergency or pending certifications, or participation in the Teachers of America or ITeach programs) are welcome to apply—your drive to make a difference is valued here.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid (or pending/emergency) SPED certification; open to alternative certification pathways
- Experience teaching special education or working with students in Autism or early childhood special ed
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside paraprofessionals and related service staff
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt strategies for students’ unique needs
- Passion for creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment
- Clear background check and eligibility to work onsite
Primary responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and specialized support for a self-contained K-2 Autism or PreK SPED classroom
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure a high level of student support
- Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and school staff
- Observe, document, and assess student progress
- Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom culture
