Key qualifications and experience desired:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education certification required
• Experience working with elementary-age students with mild intellectual disabilities preferred
• Strong ability to adapt grade-level curriculum to a diverse range of learning abilities
• Proven track record of developing and implementing IEP-driven instruction
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organization, documentation, and progress monitoring abilities
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and well-structured classroom environment
• Team player mentality with collaborative approach to working with general education staff, administrators, and families

Primary responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct instruction within a core replacement setting for students with mild intellectual disabilities
• Aligning lessons and interventions with each student’s IEP goals and accommodations
• Tracking student progress, maintaining comprehensive records, and contributing to IEP meetings
• Collaborating with school personnel to create integrated supports for all learners
• Providing regular, positive communication with families about student growth
• Maintaining a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom culture
• Participating in school and district professional development as needed
