Responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized instruction to students with severe disabilities in a self-contained setting
• Developing and implementing lesson plans tailored to individual IEPs
• Adapting curriculum and teaching methods to a variety of learning needs
• Monitoring, documenting, and reporting progress toward IEP goals
• Fostering growth in academic, functional, behavioral, and daily living skills
• Collaborating closely with general and special education colleagues, administrators, and related service providers
• Participating actively in IEP meetings and contributing to actionable student plans
• Communicating regularly with families and school staff regarding progress and supports
• Maintaining a safe, positive, and supportive classroom atmosphere

Qualifications sought:

• Valid South Carolina SPED certification required
• Experience in severe disabilities settings or working with diverse learners preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP process and documentation
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Resilient, patient, and compassionate approach to education
• Ability to quickly adapt and respond to student and classroom needs
