Make a lasting impact by supporting elementary students with mild intellectual disabilities as a Special Education Teacher in a dedicated core replacement classroom. This contract opportunity begins immediately and focuses on shaping student potential through adaptive, individualized instruction and a nurturing classroom environment.

What You'll Do:

• Deliver individualized instruction in core academic subjects, aligned with IEPs
• Adapt and differentiate grade-level curriculum for diverse learning needs
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date records
• Implement modifications and accommodation strategies detailed in IEPs
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers and staff to enhance outcomes for all students
• Communicate clearly and effectively with families and colleagues
• Actively participate in IEP meetings and goal-setting for students
• Contribute ideas and insights to team planning and problem-solving

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) Teacher certification required
• Prior experience working with elementary students with mild intellectual disabilities preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and best practices in the classroom
• Skilled in adjusting curriculum and instruction to various learning profiles
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with school staff, families, and service providers
• Commitment to equitable, student-centered teaching and a positive classroom culture
