Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher focused on Mild Intellectual Disabilities. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide direct instruction in a core replacement classroom, shaping a positive and inclusive learning environment while guiding students in academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) certification
• Experience working with students with mild intellectual disabilities preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction based on student need
• Effective communication skills with students, families, and school staff
• Collaborative mindset, comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Organized, responsible, and committed to documentation and progress monitoring
• Flexible and creative in modifying curriculum and classroom supports

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction in a core replacement setting for students with mild intellectual disabilities
• Develop, adapt, and implement lessons tailored to individual IEP goals
• Provide targeted academic support in core subject areas and track student progress
• Facilitate classroom accommodations and modifications in accordance with IEPs
• Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and school staff to integrate support services
• Attend IEP meetings, contribute to planning, and maintain clear communication with families and related service providers
• Foster a warm, structured, and respectful classroom culture that promotes student confidence and independence
• Maintain up-to-date records and documentation for compliance and collaboration
