Two full-time contract opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers to work in supportive, self-contained classrooms serving either K-2nd elementary autism or PreK special education students. Both classrooms benefit from dedicated para support, ensuring you have the help you need to focus on delivering quality instruction and care.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license; open to candidates with pending or emergency certification, including those affiliated with Teachers of America or ITeach programs
- Demonstrated experience or focused training in special education settings, preferably with elementary or early childhood age groups
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and other staff
- Commitment to positive behavioral supports and differentiated instruction
- Adaptability, patience, and genuine care for students of all academic and behavioral levels
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in a self-contained setting to students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with families and the educational team
- Employ evidence-based strategies to foster student growth academically, socially, and emotionally
- Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure classroom management and support
- Engage in ongoing communication with families, staff, and related service providers
