You’ll play a vital role in adapting curriculum, providing targeted instruction in core subject areas, and ensuring each student’s unique needs are met according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher Certification
• Experience working with students with mild intellectual disabilities preferred
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP implementation
• Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to individual needs
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Team-oriented approach to working with staff, families, and service providers

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized, engaging instruction within a core replacement classroom setting
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with individual IEPs
• Adjust curriculum and provide individualized academic support
• Track student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Employ accommodations and modifications as required
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
• Participate and contribute actively in IEP meetings
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with families and all team members
