What We’re Looking For:

• Current South Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching certification required
• Experience with or knowledge of mild intellectual disabilities
• Strong ability to modify and adapt grade-level curriculum
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to maintain accurate educational records, write and implement IEPs, and monitor student progress
• Dedication to building a nurturing, structured classroom environment
• Willingness to actively participate in IEP meetings and planning

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction for elementary students in a core replacement setting
• Develop and customize learning activities to support IEPs and student strengths
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and supports as directed in each student’s plan
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom where every child’s growth is valued
• Coordinate with general educators and service providers for holistic student support
• Maintain regular communication with families about student goals and progress
• Help develop and review IEPs with a collaborative team approach
