Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education Certification (SPED), required.
• Experience teaching students with mild intellectual disabilities strongly preferred.
• Ability to adapt and modify grade-level curriculum to suit individual learning profiles.
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and documentation.
• Effective communicator with families, educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong classroom management skills with an emphasis on fostering positive behaviors and inclusivity.
• Commitment to professional collaboration and continual student advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction in a core replacement classroom for elementary students.
• Develop, monitor, and implement individualized education plans in line with student needs and district standards.
• Support academic growth by tailoring lessons in core subjects and providing necessary accommodations and supports.
• Track student progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
• Build a welcoming, responsive classroom where every child feels encouraged and supported.
• Work closely with general education staff, related service providers, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders regarding student achievement and well-being.
