Forklift Operator 2nd Shift – Press Department Primary Role Keep the press running by safely delivering the right material at the right time. Core Responsibilities Deliver coils, sheets, and blanks to the correct press. Remove finished goods and scrap bins. Follow FIFO (First‑In, First‑Out) to prevent line stoppages. Move coils safely using proper attachments. Verify coil ID, heat number, thickness, and grade. Check for damage (dents, rust, broken bands). Ensure the right material goes to the right press; avoid mix‑ups. Double‑check labels before staging. Scan or track materials and keep staging and storage areas organized. Report shortages or mismatches immediately. Perform daily forklift inspection. Drive controlled in high‑traffic areas, keep loads low, stable, and secure, and sound horn at intersections. Use proper attachments for heavy coils and wear required PPE (steel‑toe boots, safety glasses, gloves). No damaged material during transport. No mixed materials at press. Report defects immediately.
