Global Supply Manager (Electrical Components)

WHOOP is hiring a Global Supply Manager (EE) to lead sourcing strategy and supplier management for critical electrical components and assemblies across new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining programs. In this role, you will operate at the intersection of Hardware Engineering, Operations, and the global supply base to ensure technology, cost, quality, capacity, and supply continuity support product innovation and successful launches. You will combine technical expertise, commercial judgment, and data-driven decision making to build a resilient and scalable electrical supply chain that supports the long-term growth of WHOOP.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own global sourcing and commodity strategies for electrical components and assemblies, including semiconductors, sensors, batteries, PCBAs, displays, connectors, and other critical technologies, establishing supplier, cost, capacity, and risk roadmaps across NPI and sustaining products.

• Partner closely with Electrical Engineering and cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle to influence technology and supplier selection, component architecture, design-for-supply-chain decisions, and supplier readiness for development builds, product ramps, and mass production.

• Lead supplier identification, evaluation, qualification, selection, and ongoing management, balancing technical capability, cost, quality, capacity, geographic footprint, technology roadmaps, and supply continuity while driving supplier performance through structured business reviews and corrective actions.

• Lead commercial negotiations and cost strategy across assigned commodities, including pricing, cost models, competitive benchmarking, development agreements, capacity commitments, and long-term supply arrangements, identifying opportunities to improve cost without compromising quality, performance, reliability, or member experience.

• Proactively identify and mitigate supply, capacity, technology, geopolitical, and single-source risks through alternate-source qualification, capacity planning, strategic inventory, supplier investments, and other business continuity strategies.

• Develop a deep understanding of electrical component markets, supplier capabilities, technology roadmaps, cost structures, lead times, and capacity trends, translating market intelligence and data into actionable recommendations and measurable business outcomes in partnership with Engineering, Materials, Quality, Operations, Finance, and manufacturing partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3+ years of experience in global supply management, strategic sourcing, commodity management, supplier management, or a related function within a hardware or electronics environment, with experience supporting NPI and high-volume production.

• Experience sourcing electrical components or assemblies, with an understanding of markets and cost structures across technologies such as semiconductors, sensors, batteries, PCBAs, displays, or connectors; consumer electronics experience is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute commodity or category strategies spanning supplier selection, cost roadmaps, capacity planning, supplier performance, and supply risk mitigation.

• Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation, and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex cost structures, supplier capabilities, capacity constraints, and supply chain tradeoffs while balancing technical and business objectives.

• Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturing partners and the ability to influence technical and business decisions through data, subject matter expertise, and effective cross-functional collaboration. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 15%, to support supplier engagement, manufacturing readiness, negotiations, and business reviews.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to take ownership, navigate ambiguity, and move effectively between long-term strategy and immediate execution priorities.

• Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.

In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package. These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
