• 6-doctor veterinary team dedicated to exceptional patient care
• 10 licensed veterinary technicians providing expert technical support

We serve a diverse caseload including:

• Dogs
• Cats
• Small mammals
• Exotic animals
• Reptiles

Our hospital is well-equipped with:

• Ultrasound
• Digital dental radiography
• Surgical CO2 laser
• Digital radiography
• Advanced orthopedic equipment (including TPLO kit, bone plating and ESF equipment)
• We use an Ezyvet and Smartflow paperless integrated hospital management system.

Learning opportunities include:

• Surgery – including orthopedic procedures
• Dentistry
• Feline medicine
• Wellness and preventative medicine
• Special health services not provided elsewhere in the county

Externship experience includes:

• Gathering patient histories
• Performing physical examinations
• Creation of treatment plans
• Diagnostics
• Dentistry services
• Observing, assisting, or performing surgical procedures
• Medical management of patients
• Practicing communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Externship duration ranges from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules.

All clinical year DVM students (from an accredited university program) completing at least a 2-week externship will receive a $1,500 travel/living expense stipend.

Yakima is a city about 60 miles southeast of Mount Rainier in Washington. Referred to as "The Heart of Central Washington," Yakima Valley is best known for its apple, wine, and hop production. Because of Yakima's ideal location (a little over 2 hours to either Seattle or Portland) and small-town coziness, newcomers to the area relish the high quality of life at a reasonable cost.
