Physical Therapist I - Inpatient Acute Care

Job Summary $10K Sign on bonus available Starting pay rate $90k Responsible for planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. They will be responsible for Physical Therapy Student and Physical Therapy Assistants as well as training new staff as needed. Essential Functions Establish therapy goals and formulate a treatment plan based on evaluation results. Supervise PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations. Provide individual, family and group therapy sessions for clients engaged in outpatient therapy. Participate in the interdisciplinary group for hospice patients and the case conference meetings for home health patients. Participate in discharge planning. Provide initial assessment of clinical needs using standardized tools and protocols and facilitate recommendations for treatment. Record all pertinent data in the patient’s medical records. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree Physical Therapy required or Master’s Degree Physical Therapy preferred or Doctorate Physical Therapy preferred Licenses and Credentials Physical Therapist [State License] - required Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Various Issuers preferred Experience 1-2 years of experience working as a physical therapist in a hospital, rehab or ambulatory setting required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent organizational skills. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems. Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Teaching others how to do something. Excellent problem solving, case management and communication skills. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
