Accounting Specialist - AP/AR

Tucson Asphalt Contractors (TAC) is looking for an Accounting Specialist – AP/AR to join our team. This position will play an important role in supporting our day-to-day accounting operations, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. We’re looking for someone who is organized, accurate, dependable, and takes ownership of their responsibilities. Construction moves quickly, so the right person will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating with vendors and customers, and following items through to completion. Process vendor invoices and ensure proper coding and documentation Manage Accounts Payable and prepare vendor payments Prepare customer invoices and manage Accounts Receivable Track outstanding balances and follow up on past-due accounts Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Maintain accurate customer and vendor account records Assist with account and credit card reconciliations Collect and maintain W-9s, lien waivers, and other vendor documentation as needed Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, project teams, and management Assist with month-end accounting tasks and reporting Maintain organized electronic accounting records Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed Qualifications Previous AP/AR or accounting experience is preferred. Experience with QuickBooks is strongly preferred, and construction accounting experience is a plus. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, understands the importance of deadlines and accurate financial records, communicates well, and is comfortable following up when information or payment is needed.
