Cardiac Anesthesiologist Job Requirements

At least 1 year of experience as an anesthesiologist; strong cardiac anesthesia experience required

M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school

Completion of an approved anesthesiology residency

Board certification or fellowship training in anesthesiology or cardiac anesthesiology

Current physician license, or willingness to obtain licensure in New York

Current TEE certification required

Eligible for applicable credentialing and privileging requirements

Cardiac Anesthesiology Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive cardiac anesthesia care for patients undergoing surgical and interventional procedures

Assist in directing and coordinating anesthesia department activities

Perform thorough pre-anesthesia assessments and verify informed consent

Discuss anesthetic options, anticipated outcomes, and potential risks with patients

Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia

Monitor and evaluate patients' physiological condition throughout procedures

Perform clinical interventions as needed to support patient safety and recovery

Collaborate with CRNAs and multidisciplinary clinical teams while managing appropriate cases independently
