The Role: What You’ll Do

As a Lead Enrichment Teacher at Veritas Preparatory Charter High School, you will have the unique opportunity to engage high school students in a variety of visual arts, performing arts, and other elective classes. Your role will involve both leading classes and creating a curriculum that inspires creativity, critical thinking, and an appreciation for the arts and supporting students to pass their early college elective classes as an early college liaison.

You’ll also:

• Teach different electives, covering disciplines such as theater, music, dance, and visual arts, 3D printing
• Support students enrolled in early college art classes by running a companion course and being the liaison to the college professor.
• Design and implement an engaging arts curriculum that uses various visual and performing art techniques.
• Organize school-wide student performances and displays of student work to build community across students, staff, and families.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives that promote student engagement and success
• Serve as an advisor for one crew and facilitate daily crew blocks.
• Utilize your expertise in the arts to deliver effective lessons that meet diverse learning needs
• Incorporate elements of college and career readiness into the art curriculum, fostering skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving
• Communicate proactively with students and families to build and maintain strong relationships
• Maintain an inclusive environment that respects and promotes diversity in the arts
• Engage in continuous professional development and collaboration with fellow educators

• Assess student performance regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their growth
• Encourage collaboration and promote teamwork in group projects and performances

Qualifications:

• Maintains consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One to three years of teaching experience preferred.
• Massachusetts DESE Elementary Licensure Preferred, or eligibility to achieve Highly Qualified status within one year of employment, demonstrated by:
• a passing score on the Communications and Literacy Skills (Reading and Writing) MTEL, and
• a passing score on the Theatre or Visual Arts MTEL (or equivalent), or
• hold a MA teaching license in Theatre of Visual Arts
• Authorized to work in the United States, with valid work authorization in place by the first day of employment.

Veritas Prep offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefit packages that include the following:

• Salary Range for this position is $58,000-$100,000 exclusive of fringe benefits.
• If hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
• In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
• Keep in mind, the above range is the full base salary range for this position. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
