Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Mid Shift)

Location

Fort Defiance, AZ | Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Mid Shifts | Schedule is typically 7 on / 7 off with expected 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across an Emergency Department that includes an 11-bed Main ED, 6-bed Fast Track, and 7-bed Observation Unit, rotating through each area regularly
• Perform triage, quick registration, entry screening, and coverage of additional care areas based on patient volume and unit needs
• Assist with COVID testing and/or immunization clinics as needed
• Expect to be assigned to a different area at minimum daily and may be rotated during a shift depending on staffing needs
• Float to other departments as needed, which may include taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting, or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in Emergency Room nursing
• American Heart Association BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS or ENPC required
• TNCC required
• Conscious sedation certification required (may be obtained through the facility upon confirmation)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience rotating across multiple ED care areas including fast track and observation settings
• Comfort with floating to other departments and adapting to varying patient care needs
• Prior travel nursing experience, particularly as a returning traveler to this type of facility
