Radiology - CT Tech

Diagnostic CT Technologist

This is a 36-hour position over a 13-week contract.

Shifts will be Friday, Saturday & Sunday; 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM. On-call availability is optional.

The Diagnostic CT Technologist operates under general supervision, following established policies and procedures to perform diagnostic CT exams using appropriate imaging equipment. Responsibilities include verifying patient identity, reviewing medical records for exam appropriateness, interviewing patients to update medical history and assess risk factors, and explaining procedures while addressing potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives. The technologist sets up equipment and acquires images according to established scripts, reviews images, documents exceptions, and communicates findings to radiologists. They also recognize and respond to medical emergencies while providing post-care instructions to patients. Participation in process improvement activities and education of residents, student technologists, and new employees is also expected.

• Perform diagnostic CT exams while following established protocols.
• Verify patient identity and review medical records.
• Interview patients to obtain and verify medical history.
• Explain procedures, including potential risks and benefits, to patients.
• Set up imaging equipment and obtain necessary images.
• Document exceptions and communicate observations to radiologists.
• Respond to medical emergencies appropriately.
• Provide post-care instructions as prescribed by physicians.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the radiology practice.
• Educate and mentor residents and student technologists.

• Must have ARRT certification in CT Tech & Radiology.
• Must have BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in CT & Radiology.
• Familiarity with GE CT & X-ray machines is required.
• Must possess a Texas CT/Radiology license.
