Project Manager - Structural Steel & Metals (28010)

DescriptionPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects from contract award through final delivery and project closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, construction drawings, project scheduling, material procurement, shop fabrication, and customer coordination.This individual will serve as a key point of contact for customers and project partners while coordinating closely with estimating, engineering, detailing, fabrication, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, on schedule, and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesManage structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects from award through completionReview contracts, drawings, specifications, estimates, and project requirementsCoordinate project schedules, milestones, material procurement, fabrication, and deliveryServe as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and other project stakeholdersCoordinate with engineering and detailing teams to ensure drawings and fabrication details meet project requirementsWork closely with the fabrication shop to establish production priorities and maintain project schedulesMonitor project costs, budgets, labor, material usage, and profitabilityReview and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentationIdentify potential project issues, scope gaps, schedule concerns, and cost impactsCoordinate material purchasing and vendor relationshipsTrack fabrication progress and coordinate deliveries to meet project schedulesEnsure fabricated products comply with project specifications, drawings, and applicable quality standardsCoordinate with field personnel and erection contractors as neededMaintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycleConduct project meetings and provide regular updates to customers and internal leadershipAssist with resolving fabrication, delivery, and field-related issuesManage project closeout, including final documentation and outstanding itemsMaintain a high level of customer service throughout the projectProject ScopeProjects may include:Structural steel beams and columnsWide flange shapesSquare and rectangular tube shapesSteel pipeBar joists, joist girders, and long-span joistsShop-fabricated structural trussesStructural steel deckingSteel stairs and railingsMiscellaneous steelPlate fabricationReinforcing barCommercial, industrial, and residential construction projectsRequirementsQualifications3+ years of project management experience within structural steel fabrication, steel erection,miscellaneous metals, or metal fabricationStrong understanding of structural steel fabrication and construction processesAbility to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and contractsExperience managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, and customer expectationsStrong understanding of material requirements and fabrication lead timesExperience coordinating with engineers, detailers, fabricators, contractors, and vendorsStrong organizational and time-management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office and project management softwareExperience with Tekla, Bluebeam, or similar construction/steel software is a plustalroo
