Patient Access Representative

Position Summary We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide exceptional customer service while supporting patient registration, admissions, and front-office operations. This role is responsible for greeting patients and visitors, verifying demographic and insurance information, completing registration processes, explaining required forms, and ensuring a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities + Greet and check in patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. + Register patients and accurately enter demographic information into the electronic medical record system. + Verify patient and visitor identity by collecting required information and reviewing photo identification. + Explain consent forms and admissions paperwork and obtain required signatures. + Determine patient payment responsibilities and identify individuals who may require financial assistance. + Verify insurance coverage and eligibility while ensuring accurate documentation. + Distribute and collect admissions and registration documents. + Answer and direct incoming phone calls, addressing patient questions and concerns. + Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies. + Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience. + Perform additional administrative and front-desk duties as assigned. Required Qualifications + Previous experience in patient registration, patient access, healthcare administration, or customer service. + Experience using Epic or a similar electronic health record (EHR) system. + Strong customer service and patient service skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. + High attention to detail and data accuracy. + Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Preferred Qualifications + Experience in a hospital, clinic, urgent care, or healthcare setting. + Knowledge of insurance verification and patient financial responsibility processes. + Familiarity with admissions, registration, and front-office workflows. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Santa Rosa, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
