Position Overview

Securify is seeking an Installation Technician III in Reno, Nevada, to serve as a hands-on installation lead for security system projects.

You will lead work from field planning through final commissioning and client handoff, combining advanced technical skills with practical crew leadership. This role requires someone who can solve difficult problems, coordinate with project managers and other trades, mentor technicians, and maintain a calm, professional jobsite.

This is a working lead position. You will remain directly involved in installation, programming, troubleshooting, and testing while guiding the team’s daily work.

What You Will Do

• Lead complete alarm, access control, and security camera installations from field planning through testing and closeout.
• Perform advanced installation, configuration, programming, and troubleshooting of security systems and connected devices.
• Resolve complex wiring, power, device communication, and system integration issues.
• Interpret drawings and plan practical cable routes, conduit routes, device locations, and equipment layouts.
• Assign daily tasks, coordinate crew activities, inspect workmanship, and keep work aligned with project schedules and labor expectations.
• Coordinate field activities with project managers, general contractors, other trades, and clients.
• Identify material needs, site constraints, scope questions, and schedule risks early and communicate them clearly.
• Lead final system testing and commissioning, verify device operation, and ensure accurate labeling and documentation.
• Train Technician I and Technician II team members in installation methods, troubleshooting, safety, and professional conduct.
• Provide timely, specific feedback and help technicians correct issues with respect and accountability.
• Maintain organized tools, materials, vehicles, and jobsites and hold the crew to the same standard.
• Support a professional client handoff with clear explanations of system operation and completed work.

What You Bring

• Typically 5 or more years of hands-on low-voltage experience, including substantial experience leading crews on alarm, access control, and camera projects.
• Strong technical proficiency across alarm systems, access-controlled doors, cameras, panels, power supplies, and related cabling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a multisystem installation from planning through commissioning.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and sound judgment when field conditions differ from project drawings.
• Ability to interpret complex plans and translate them into clear field assignments.
• Experience coordinating with clients, project managers, contractors, and other trades.
• Strong organization, documentation, and communication skills.
• A leadership style that combines clear expectations, practical coaching, accountability, and respect.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to assigned client sites in the Reno area.

• IP networking for cameras, recorders, alarm panels, and access control equipment.
• Manufacturer training or relevant security industry certifications.
• Planning crew labor and materials and identifying scope changes.
• Leading client walkthroughs and resolving field escalations.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on field leadership position involving active installation work and oversight at client sites. Work may involve ladders, elevated or tight spaces, prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting or carrying equipment and materials.
