Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students’ growth as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Situated near Hayward, CA, this full-time position offers the chance to foster meaningful progress within a resource specialist (RSP) setting. You’ll work closely with administrators, support staff, and families, crafting individualized education plans and inspiring student achievement.
This opportunity features a Monday-Friday schedule with 35-37.5 hours weekly, from October 5th through the end of the school year. Your caseload details will be covered during the interview, ensuring you find the right fit.
Desired Experience & Requirements:
- Current, active California CTC licensure with Mild/Moderate authorization
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher in K-12 settings
- Strong understanding of IEP goal development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and advocating for student needs
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to promoting inclusive and supportive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and targeted interventions to students per their individualized education plans
- Maintain accurate records, submit progress reports, and participate actively in IEP meetings
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
- Support a respectful, engaging classroom culture that values each learner’s unique abilities
