About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Telemetry – Maryland

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Randallstown, Maryland

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; every other weekend required; self-scheduling system utilized

Highlights:

• 40-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit with average daily census of 40 patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:6 with adult and geriatric patient population
• Cerner EMR system with approximately 24 hours of unit-based orientation
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Opportunity to care for diverse Med-Surg/Telemetry patient population including admissions from the Emergency Department
• Floating within scope to like units based on hospital needs; no on-call requirement

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required; more experience preferred
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS, NIHSS, and Prophecy Relias Basic EKG certifications required; ACLS preferred
• 4 hours of annual stroke continuing education required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Demonstrated expertise in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Proficiency in blood product administration, heparin protocols, IV insertion and maintenance, and phlebotomy
• Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-Evac), surgical drain management, and wound/wound vac care
• Competency in non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• First-time travelers accepted with recent specialty experience; previous charge experience preferred
