This is a high-impact, hands-on role responsible for the full lifecycle administration, performance optimization, security hardening, and sustainment of large-scale Oracle database environments. Your work will directly support national security initiatives, operational readiness, and enterprise platform stability. You will operate in a 24x7 mission environment, ensuring high availability and reliability of critical systems while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.Key Responsibilities:Administer, monitor, and sustain Oracle database environments (10g, 11g, 12c) across Linux and Windows platformsPerform database health checks, performance monitoring, and capacity planningApply patches and updates (CPU/PSU) using OPatch, including validation activitiesDesign and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN (hot, cold, supplemental backups)Support high-availability and disaster recovery architectures, including RAC and Data GuardExecute database refreshes, clones, and migrations using Data Pump, SQL Loader, and scriptingTune database and SQL performance using AWR, ADDM, SQL Tuning Advisor, and OEMImplement and maintain database security, user roles, and access controls in compliance with DISA STIGsTroubleshoot Tier III / Tier IV database issues related to performance, replication, security, and integrationSupport application teams with database changes, releases, and runtime issue resolutionDevelop and maintain UNIX/Linux shell scripts for automation and monitoringCreate and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and disaster recovery runbooksOperate within ITSM and change management frameworks (e.g., Remedy, JIRA or equivalent)Support compliance requirements, security audits, and operational readiness reviewsCollaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to remediate findingsProvide support for 24x7 systems, including on-call or rotational coverage as requiredRequired Qualifications:Active Top Secret clearance10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise or federal environmentsStrong hands-on experience administering Oracle databases (10g–12c) in production environmentsExperience with performance tuning, backup/recovery, patching, and security hardeningProficiency in UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting for automationExperience supporting systems in secure or regulated environments (DoD, DHS, or similar)Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skillsExperience supporting high-availability systems in mission-critical environmentsWork Environment:Fully onsite at Redstone Arsenal (Huntsville, AL) Monday–Friday within standard core business hours (with on-call rotation as required)Secure facility with strict adherence to security protocols and compliance standards24x7 mission environment supporting critical operational systemsCollaborative, fast-paced environment working across engineering, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teamsWhy Join Kforce?
